Exquisite Skye
2023 Filly – A'Ali x Terre Du Vent
A half-sister to Asteverdi, who won three races for me over seven furlongs and a mile, Exquisite Skye has developed into a lovely filly for the second half of this season and beyond.
She has matured nicely through the spring, is a filly with some size and scope to her, and I think she can make up into not only a nice two-year-old, but also a three-year-old like Asteverdi.
Her sire, A’Ali, has enjoyed success with his first crop this year, led by Ali Shuffle who won her first three races before finishing second in a Group 3 at Chantilly. He was all speed when racing, and that, matched with Exquisite Skye’s dam Terre du Vent, makes for a nice blend of speed and stamina.
I’m looking forward to getting Exquisite Skye started, she should be ready to race from July onwards and I think she will be a nice prospect.
Space Blues x Archetypal '23
2023 Filly – Space Blues x Archetypal
This filly is nice-sized, precocious type who has shown a fantastic attitude to her early work.
She is half-sister to debut winner and subsequent G2-placed juvenile Lord Of The Lodge, who excelled at between six and seven furlongs. This filly would strike me as one who would take after him and be sharp enough to be making her debut early in 2025.

Shouldbeanothering
2023 Colt – Havana Grey x Smoke Without Fire
This colt logged the fastest time at the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze-Up sale in May so I was delighted to come away with him.
He is by the high-class sire Havana Grey, who was a very speedy juvenile, winning the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood as well as placing at Group 1 level in the Prix Morny. He then won the Group 1 Flying Five the following season and I think Shouldbeanothering will also get better as he gets older.
He has settled in well since joining the yard and his work has been pleasing. He is maturing physically and mentally and will be ready to get his career started soon.
I think he is a lovely prospect and can make his mark at two and also for next season.

Black Tango
2023 Colt – Invincible Army x Khaleesi Wind
This colt is a lovely prospect for the second half of the season and is a strong sort who keeps maturing physically. He is a half-brother to the useful sprinter Action Point, who was a Listed winner as a two-year-old and then went on to be placed at Listed level again as a three-year-old.
Black Tango does show speed in his work at home, and I think will make his mark over six or seven furlongs. He is an imposing sort physically who could turn into a real bull of a horse as he gets older.
He should be ready to get started on track in the next couple of months and I think he will do nothing but progress this year.

Classy Clarets
2021 Gelding – Cotai Glory x Hope And Faith
A four-year-old gelding, he won once for previous connections and has already doubled his tally since moving to Newmarket with victory over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton in May. He then followed that up with a fine second at Lingfield on turf, also over seven furlongs.
Trainer’s view: “I think Classy Clarets is ahead of his handicap mark, and is unexposed over seven furlongs which looks to be his optimum trip. I think he can be a fun horse on turf and the all-weather and has the ability to win more races.”
